We were coming down to the end of the trip, but we still had a few more stops on the way back to Lincoln. El viaje estaba terminando, pero nos quedaban algunas paradas por la vuelta a Lincoln.

We got up early once again and were in Vail by 8 in the morning. We walked around the beautiful ski resort town of 4835 people, and it reminded me more of a European town than an American one. We walked along the river a while before stopping at Unravel Coffee, a place that serves their coffee in recyclable glass jars. Yay for protecting the environment. We have to do it as the Supreme Court says the government can’t. Nos despertamos pronto otra vez y estabamos llegando en Vail a las 8 de la mañana. Exploramos el pueblo de esquiar de 4835 personas, y me recordaba más de un pueblo europeo que uno estadounidense. Caminamos por el río un rato antes de parar en Unravel Coffee, una cafetería que sirve cafe en una taza de vidrio recicables. Que bueno es proteger al medio ambiente. Tenemos que hacerlo nostros mismos porque el Tribunal Supremo estadounidense dice que el gobierno no puede.

We got back on the road, stopping in Frisco for gas. As a major Felicia and Frisco fan, I had to stop in a place sharing the name with Felicia’s ex husband. Volvimos a la autovía, y paramos en Frisco para echar gasolina. Como me encanta el superpareja Frisco y Felicia de General Hospital, tenía que parar en un sitio con el mismo nombre del ex pareja de Felicia.

The plan was to stop at Pablo’s Coffee in Denver so I could get another mug with my name on it, but they weren’t selling any. I at least got a punch card. We walked around a park for a while before getting back on the road. The road between Denver, Colorado’s state capital with a population of 715, 522, and our hotel in North Platte, Nebraska, population 23,390, was long and boring. El plan era parar en Pablo’s Coffee en Denver para comprar otra taza con mi nombre, pero no había ninguno para comprar. Al menos recibí una tarjeta de fidelidad. Exploramos un parque antes de re-empezar el viaje. La autovía entre Denver, la capital de Colorado con una población de 715.522, y nuestro hotel en North Platte, Nebraska, población 23.390, era aburrido y largo.

It was also hot, so we just chilled at the hotel and rested. We ended up eating at Runza, a Nebraskan fast food chain that is known for their runza sandwich, with cabbage and meat (I always get the chicken tenders since I don’t like red meat…I love their fries.) También hacía bastante calor, entonces, nos quedamos en el hotel y descansamos. Cenamos en Runza, un restuarante de comida rápida de Nebraska que es conocido por su sándwich “runza”, con col y carne (siempre pido sus fingers de pollo porque no me gusta mucho la carne roja…pero me encantan sus patatas.)

The next morning, as the town and hotel were unnerving us, we left early and it was a non-eventful return to Lincoln. The trip was over, but I still had a move back to Illinois, a move where I would take a long “scenic” route back to visit places I missed on my 1989 trip that I wanted to see. La próxima mañana, como el pueblo y hotel nos pusieron nerviosos, salimos pronto y volvimos a Lincoln sin problema. El viaje ha acabado, pero todavía me quedaba la mudanza de vuelta a Illinois, cuando iba a tomar una ruta más larga y “escenica” para visitar sitios que perdí durante mi viaje en 1989 que quería ver.
