It’s nearly Halloween, so I thought I would feature a horror film this week. I stumbled upon a Basque film on Netflix, Errementari: El herrero y el diablo from 2017. Como ya es casi Halloween, quería escribir sobre una película terrorifica esta semana. Encontré una película vasca en Netflix, Errementari: El herrero y el diablo, desde 2017. 

Legend has it that the blacksmith Patxi (Kandido Uranga) was such a horrible person that even the devil himself feared him. In 1845, after the first Carlist War, a small village in Álava leaves the blacksmith alone. His property is surrounded with spikey gates and keep out signs. Hay una leyenda que dice que el herrero Patxi (Kandido Uranga) fue tan horrible que incluso el diablo lo temía. En 1845, después de la primera Guerra Carlista, un pueblo en Álava deja al herrero en paz. Su propiedad es guardado por unas puertas con espinas y anuncios para no entrar. 

Usue (Uma Bracaglia) is an orphan who all the kids bully. When they decapitate her doll and throw the head onto the blacksmith’s property, Usue decides to go find it. She later finds a child trapped in a cage who she feels she must free. (Spoiler alert). The child turns out to be Sartael (Eneko Sagardoy), a demon sent from hell who had made a pact with Patxi. Now the village is angry with Patxi for Usue’s disappearance without understanding exactly what Patxi has been doing for them. Usue (Uma Bracaglia) es una huérfana, y todos los niños le hacen bullying. Cuando decapitan su muñeca y tiran la cabeza hacía la propeidad del herrero, Usue decide que va a encontrarla. Luego encuentra a un niño atrapado en una jaula que tiene que librerar. (Aviso de spoiler). El niño es Sartael (Eneko Sagardoy), un demonio del infierno quien tiene un pacto con Patxi. Ahora el pueblo está indignado con Patxi por la desaparición de Usue y no entienden lo que está haciendo Patxi por el pueblo. 

The film has a lot of twists and is more suspenseful than horror. It has beautiful cinematography and was surprisingly impressive. Hay muchos giros inesperados y es más una película de suspense que horror. La cinematografía es bonita y me sorpendió porque era una peli tan impresionante.
