I’ve been to Sitges three times now, and every time I am left wanting more of this beautiful Catalán village near Barcelona. It’s located 35 kilometres south (21 miles) and is a 30-40 minute Rodalies train ride from Barcelona city centre. He estado en Sitges tres veces ahora, y cada vez me queda con ganas de más de este pueblo catalán precioso cerca de Barcelona. Está a 35 kilómetros al sur de Barcelona y tarda unos 30-40 minutos en tren (Rodalies) desde el centro de Barcelona.

Its location on the Mediterranean Sea has long made it a popular tourist destination. It was home to a 1960s counterculture and has been called “Ibiza in miniature”. I’ve never gone out at night there, but in the summer the nightlife is popular. It attracts a large number of LGBT+ tourists. Prices are through the roof. Su ubicación en el Mar Mediterráneo siempre ha atraído turistas. Había una contracultura fuerte en los años 1960 y lo han llamado “Ibiza en miniatura”. Nunca he salido por noche allí, pero en el verano hay mucho ambiente. Atrae muchos turistas de la colectiva LGBT+. Los precios son altos. 

I didn’t have much time to spend on my third visit, but I was glad to go on a Sunday morning before the Lady Gaga concert. A walk along the beach up past the church to the other beach and through the old town was just what the doctor had ordered. No disponía de mucho tiempo en mi tercera visita, pero me alegro haber ido otra vez un domingo por la mañana antes del concierto de Lady Gaga. I had been during the day during Carnival in 2011 during a trip to Barcelona, back when I was somewhat of a travel novice, and I visited again in 2014. I wouldn’t mind living in a place like Sitges during the winter to be honest. In the summer though, give me a place on Spain’s north coast. La primera vez que fui era durante el día durante Carnival 2011 durante un viaje a Barcelona, cuando era aún algo de novato de viajar, y lo visité otra vez en 2014. No me importaría vivir en un sitio como Sitges durante el invierno para ser sincero. En el verano, prefiero un sitio como la costa norte de España.
