I had just completed the planned portion of the Camino del Norte for 2017, and I was honestly ready for more, not wanting to end the Camino. I had found my strength, but alas, I thought I had to return to work. I left the Camino in Ribadeo, with only 200 kilometres to Santiago.
I had already paid for everything for a return to two more weeks of working at an English-immersion course and desperately counting the money to make it through the rest of the summer.
Funny how a text saying that they did not want me to return due to “visa issues” changed everything.
I’m currently in Bilbao working my way back to an uncertain future in Valencia. I have to find a new place to live there, where I am hoping on finding a new job for the next academic course so I can stay in my beloved city.
Everything is up in the air. Everything. Todo está en el aire. Todo.
I have a lot of Camino entries to write, so stay tune for those…and I hope to report better news soon on the employment front.
Yikes! Good luck!

Thanks! I can’t wait until this is just another fun story about living in Spain 🙂 At the moment, however, it’s a bit scary.

Thanks! I can tell you a thousand positives about not having to go back to teach at that place, but the financial situation is a bit murky at the moment. I shall persist! 🙂
