I am back!  ¡Ya estoy de nuevo!

I never really left, since I wrote a lot of entries in June before embarking on my summer adventures.  However, my presence hasn’t fully been around, and it’s going to be September before I’m back full time. Vale, nunca me he ido, como escribí unas cuantas entradas en junio antes de empezar mis aventuras del verano. Sin embargo, no he estado por aquí 100%, y septiembre va a llegar antes de estar aquí 100 por 100. 

What’s been going on? ¿Qué ha pasado?

-I have officially moved from Bilbao, Capital of the World, to Valencia, Land of 300 Sunny Days a Year.  Ya es oficial. Ya no soy residente de Bilbao, la capital del mundo, como ya me he traslado a Valencia, Tierra (y mar) de 300 días asoleados al año. 

-I worked at a great summer camp near Requena in the Parque Natural de Río Cabriel. Trabajé en un buen campamento de verano cerca de Requena en el Parque Natural del Río Cabriel. 

-I had a road trip from Bilbao to Valencia that I thought was without incident until I received my first Spanish speeding ticket. Oops! Radar is everywhere. Fui en coche de Bilbao hasta Valencia que pensaba que fue sin incidente hasta que recibí mi primera multa de correr. Xe collons! El radar está en todos los sitios. 

-I found a place to live in the barrio I was hoping. Encontré un sitio para vivir en el barrio donde quería. 

If all goes according to plan, I will be headed up to Santander on Sunday to begin my 2016 Camino del Norte. I’m hearing lots of reports of fully booked albergues, and I am doing a lot of thinking if this is the Camino experience I want. I am specifically avoiding the French Camino for that reason. However, as I have wanted to do the Camino del Norte since 2010 (although my original plan was to just do the Basque part and then the last 5 days instead of the whole Camino), I am going to set off for a few days and have an AirBNB booked in Santander plus the first two nights booked in an albergue. We will see how far I get. Plan B, if I feel there are too many pilgrims for the ZEN I am looking for, is a few days in Asturias or Galicia. Si todo va bien, el domingo voy a Santander para empezar el Camino de Norte 2016. He leído que este año los albergues están completos, y estoy pensando mucho si este es la experiencia del Camino que quiero. No quiero nada que hacer con el Camino Frances por esta razón. Sin embargo, como he querido hacer el Camino del Norte desde 2010 (aunque el plan original era solo hacer la parte vasca y después los últimos 5 días en lugar del Camino entero), voy a hacer unos días. Tengo un AirBNB reservado en Santander y los albergues reservados por los primeros dos días. Ya veremos hasta donde llego. Plan B, si me siento agobiado por demasiados peregrinos y no llego a mi ZEN, es unos días en Asturias o Galicia. 

In September, I plan to dive back into another Spanish director. I am considering Luis Buñuel, Fernando Trueba, Luis García Berlanga and Bigas Luna. However, I am also considering Iciar Bollaín and Isabel Coixet to spotlight some woman directors.  I am sure I will eventually get around to all of them. I may just spotlight Carmen Maura, who is a National Treasure. En septiembre, voy a escribir sobre otro director español. Estoy pensando en o Luis Buñuel o Fernando Trueba o Luis García Berlanga o Bigas Luna o Iciar Bollaín o Isabel Coixet, como hay directoras españolas también. Creo que con tiempo ya escribiré de todos. También estoy pensando en escribir sobre la Carmen Maura, quien debería ser un Bien de Interés Cultural ya. 

I am hoping to do some research this autumn into the world of Federico García Lorca and may take off to Granada.  Este otoño espero explorar el mundo de Federico García Lorca y estoy pensando en un viaje a Granada. 

I should be crossing off three provinces this autumn (one is 100% certain).  Espero visitar y tachar tres provincias más este otoño (uno ya es 100% cierto).

And I am getting that novel sent back out before beginning work in October!  ¡Y espero mandar a un editiorial mi novela otra vez (y espero que no me rechacen otra vez) antes de empezar a trabajar de nuevo en octubre.
